Honey Bucks Slot Strategy
Honey Bucks by IGT leaves honeycomb spaces wild for two spins after bees fly away. Learn the alignment rules, the cracked-wild exclusion, and when wild positions justify a winning play.
Fundamentals
What Is Honey Bucks?
Honey Bucks is a simple accumulator slot machine by IGT. On any spin, up to five bees may fly from the honeycomb reels, leaving empty spaces that turn wild for the next two spins. The wild positions persist between players, making this an accessible AP target with a clear, fast-to-evaluate trigger.
Under the hood
How the Honeycomb Wild Mechanic Works
- Bee departure: Bees randomly leave their honeycomb cells, leaving empty spaces. These spaces become wilds for the following two spins.
- Spin 1 (empty space): The cell appears as an open honeycomb — two spins remaining. Count these as active wilds.
- Spin 2 (WILD graphic): The space shows a yellow WILD with honey dripping — it is on its final spin. Count these as active wilds.
- Spin 3 (cracked): The wild shows cracks and disappears after this spin. Do not count cracked wilds in any trigger evaluation.

Play / Walk Rules
- Play: Aligned active wilds inside reels 1–3; a connected horizontal run anywhere; or enough active wilds inside reels 1–3. The guide gives the count behind each.
- Walk: Scattered wilds that don’t meet alignment criteria; or only cracked wilds are visible.
- Never count cracked wilds. They exit on the next spin.
- Re-evaluate each spin: Wild states change as bees continue to leave. A non-trigger state can become a trigger state on the very next spin.

Common questions
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Honey Bucks?
Honey Bucks is a simple IGT accumulator slot machine featuring persistent honeycomb wilds. On any spin, up to five bees may randomly fly from the honeycomb reels, leaving empty spaces that turn wild for the next two spins. Wild states persist between players.
How long do the wilds last in Honey Bucks?
Wilds last for two spins after bees leave. On the first spin, an empty honeycomb space appears. On the second spin, the space shows a yellow WILD graphic with honey dripping from it. On the third spin, the wild shows cracks and disappears. Never play cracked wilds — they provide no value.
What are the play triggers for Honey Bucks?
Honey Bucks reads off active wilds and their horizontal alignment. There are three separate conditions: wilds sitting connected or a single gap apart on the same row inside reels 1–3; a connected horizontal run of wilds anywhere on the reels; and raw wild volume inside reels 1–3, in any arrangement. Active wilds are empty honeycomb spaces or honey-dripping WILD graphics; cracked wilds never count. The subscriber guide gives the count each condition needs.
What do cracked wilds mean?
Cracked wilds (wilds showing cracks or a cracked pattern) will disappear on the next spin. They provide no value. Never count cracked wilds in your trigger evaluation and never play a machine based solely on cracked wilds.
Why focus on horizontal alignment?
Honey Bucks uses a horizontal pay-line structure. Wilds on the same row with a connection or one-gap alignment create a scenario where they can simultaneously land on the same pay line, multiplicatively increasing wins. Scattered wilds on different rows contribute less expected value per wild than aligned wilds.
