Beyond the common gold jewels there are special blue, green, purple, and red jewels tied to the progressive jackpots. A wild landing on the reel below drops the jewel down (and the next one in the queue slides in to replace it).
The red progressive towers over the others and is the only one worth pursuing. Expect high variance — most sessions won't land it, but the hit you eventually catch more than covers the losses you took getting there.
